The 1307 Sequential Ongoing Clock IC is a low power‚ with a full BCD clock/schedule in addition to 56 bytes of nonvolatile SRAM. A two-wire‚ bi-directional (I2C) bus is used for serial data and address transfer. The seconds‚ minutes‚ hours‚ days ‚ dates ‚ months ‚ and years are all displayed by the clock/calendar. The month's end date is consequently adapted to months with under 31 days‚ including amendments for the jump year. The 1307 RTC clock works in either the 24-hour or 12-hour design with AM/PM pointer. The DS1307 has a built-in power sense circuit that automatically switches to the battery supply when there are power outages.
